House Pics

Ran by the house tonight and snapped a few pics from my phone of the progress.

The stone on the front of the house is finished and the porch posts are up but not painted yet so they look a little dingy.

 Chandelier in entryway

Stairway is almost finished. Still need to finish trim and install carpet.

Interior doors are in and handles installed yesterday.

Vanity lights in the upstairs guest baths.

They were in the process of installing the carpet today

Tile inside the mantel and mantel still waiting to be installed.

Our House is Looking Like......a REAL House!

I can't believe how much has gotten done this week. The stone is finished on the front of the house. I'm really happy with it.

We are hoping to get the front porch posts up this weekend. And will start building the steps off the front and back porches next week.
I really debated going with a classic wooden stair rails or black iron stair rails. I'm really happy I went with the more classic wooden stair rails. I think it looks great especially with all the white trim in the house. Obviously it isn't quite finished yet...but it's close!

And our turquoise laundry room's cabinets are installed.

The quartz countertops are being installed Wednesday. The hardwood floors are all installed as well but I couldn't bring myself to post a picture of them because they are so dirty from all the workers!

More updates to come soon!

The Countdown to Moving In Begins

We have a set move-in date! The first of October can't come soon enough!
Our cabinets and most of our appliances were installed this week. We still are waiting on the range hood and still need to install the cabinet hardware/drawer pulls.

The island in the kitchen and wine cooler.

Crown moulding in the dining room. Don't have the wainscoting up yet in here.

They just started adding some of the stone to the front of the house.

Stripes in the nursery

This coming week they will start installing the hardwood and stair rail on the balcony and stairway.
So hopefully everything stays on schedule because I'm getting awfully anxious!

Megan's Bridal Shower

This past Saturday I helped throw a bridal shower for my very best friend Megan. Megan and I have been friends since we were in daycare together. I am beyond honored to be her Maid of Honor in her wedding set for November. Here are a few pics from the shower.

The bride-to-be and me!

Megan's mother owns a catering company, which means she did an excellent job with all the yummy food! Thank you so much for your help Crystal!

Paint and Garage Doors

Things are coming along with the house! The garage doors were installed Wednesday and lots of painting has been happening.

And here is our VERY AQUA laundry room. It kind of freaks me out and I also kind of LOVE IT. I mean it's a laundry room so who cares, right? I think after the cabinets are all installed it well help it look a little less bright. Or not.....we'll see I guess!

Here is the dining room. The color in the picture looks a little different than real life. It looks darker in person. Our carpenter starts next week and can hopefully get the white wainscoting up soon.

And here are some pics of the gray. It's kind of hard to tell in the pictures but I'm really happy with how the gray turned out! We are still waiting for the fireplace column to be painted a dark gray and for the stripes in the nursery to be painted. I can't wait to see how that turns out!

Hopefully more pics to come soon!

So much to be thankful for this week

If I ever have to look at another chandelier...it will be too soon!

We now have all our lighting picked out and purchased. FINALLY. We have bought and returned more chandeliers than I'm willing to admit trying to make these decisions. Why am I so dang indecisive???

Anyway here is what we have...

This chandelier will going in the entryway. I actually ordered this, got it, didn't like it, returned it, decided I DID like it, reordered it, got it in the mail today, love it. And no I'm not kidding.

This will be going in the stairwell that leads to the second floor bedrooms. This was ordered online, picked up at Lowes, lugged home, found out it was broken, and returned. Still waiting for the new (hopefully unbroken) one to get here. See what I mean by I NEVER want to purchase another chandelier again!

This will be going in the downstairs nursery.

This is the pendant from West Elm for dining room

Also from West Elm....globe pendants for above the kitchen island.

And this last one is for the master bedroom.

Jason and I never sleep with the ceiling fan on unless we plan on not being able to breathe for the next two days. I always wake up so stuffy when they are on. So chandelier it is. All the upstairs bedrooms will be getting boring old ceiling fans though. So if you are reading this and will be a frequent guest to the Rimini casa, don't worry there will be a ceiling fan to keep you cool. But, seriously....how DO you breathe the next day with those darn things blowing on you all night??? Hmmm.....maybe we just need to dust ours. OOPS!
