Mason,
You are a much happier baby this month. The medicine you take for your reflux seems to really be helping. You still spit up a lot, however you don't seem to be in pain as much any more. You and your sister are taking 5 ounces of a breastmilk/formula mixture every four hours. Your last bottle for the day is at 11:00 at night. After that we don't wake you up again to eat until 5:00 am. Some days you are ok with this and let us sleep and other days you are up at 3:30 for a party! My favorite thing about you is that you love to cuddle. You want to be held all the time, especially being held by mommy. I think you are going to be a little momma's boy. This makes me smile! And you love to lay your little head on my shoulder and snuggle close. Your daddy likes to call you his best buddy. Actually the exact name he call you is his  Buds Buddy. ha! We still haven't been able to get you to smile yet. You are so close though! Your eyes light up and and you open your mouth wide. I can't wait to see a big smile on your face! I love you so so so much my little man.
Love you to the moon,
                                                           Your Mommy

                     Madeline,
My little girl. My Maddie Moo, my Moo Moo, my Mimi. Poor thing you are never going to learn your real name because I call you Moo and Mimi so much for some reason! You and your brother are both wearing size 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. You are still a pretty laid back baby, but if you are hungry...look out! You will cry and cry until you get that bottle! You love to watch the tv. We turn on a classical baby show and you are content to sit and watch it! You do not care for tummy time and usually lay your head down and suck on your hand instead. You have learned to smile this month! It is so cute to see you smile, but I have a hard time getting you to do it. You are evidently a daddy's girl though because he can get you to smile more easily than I can! I'm a little jealous about this! I love you so much my sweet girl. More than I can ever tell you!
Love you to the moon,
Your Mommy

The Twin's Nursery

I've gotten a few messages from people asking to see pictures of the house and nursery.  The construction of our house was done in October and after we moved in I planned on doing a few posts with pictures of everything. However I didn't anticipate the time it would take to decorate this big of a place. So I kept telling myself I was going to wait to post pictures until we finished furnishing and decorating. Well fast forward two months and I was homebound/bed rest with my pregnancy. So the whole decorating every room has been put on hold. I guess I just need to forget about every room being 100% decorated and just post some pics. I mean lets be honest, now that I have two babies at home the likelihood that every room will be furnished and decorated any time in the near future is pretty unlikely.
So I figure maybe I can start with one room at a time...and since I've had quite a few people ask for nursery pictures I thought I'd start there.
It was a little difficult decorating a nursery for a boy and girl. I knew I wanted to do gray stripes with yellow in my decorations. I was afraid just yellow and gray would look too masculine so I also added some pink for Madeline and turquoise for Mason. We only have one crib in the nursery for now. The other crib is in our room now and when the babies move to sleeping in the nursery I will bring the other crib in here also.

I saw this on Pinterest and had my step dad put it together for me. I bought everything for it at Hobby Lobby.

Bookshelves are actually picture ledges from Ikea.

Love these toy bins by 3 Sprouts. One is from Target and the other I found on Amazon.
So I love these prints I had made....until I discovered they were wrong. I accidentally put their 1 month lengths on them instead of their newborn lengths. Yeah, I know, but in my defense I was a little occupied in the NICU at the time. So for now they are up. I need to order the correct ones. Add it to the to-do list!

So that's the nursery! Right now we hardly ever use it since the babies are still sleeping in our room (and probably will be until they're 3 if I have my way! Probably won't get the hubby to agree to that one)!

A Very Happy Mother's Day

Last year on this day I remember going to church with a heavy heart. Jason and I had been trying to have a baby for about a year and I had a sinking feeling that it wasn't just that it was taking a while, but instead that maybe something wasn't quite right and preventing it from happening for us. I remember our priest during mass asking all the mothers to stand and be recognized and I felt the lump in my throat start to form. I spent most of that mass, as I did most of every mass that year and a half, asking God to please help us. Help us fulfill our dreams of having a baby.

So much has changed since last year. All day yesterday I thought about how blessed I am to be able to call myself a mommy to not only one little blessing but TWO!

Madeline and Mason you have come so far since you were born and I am so thankful you made my dream of being a mommy came true. I have learned so much in the past four months of "mommy hood". But the most important thing I've learned is that being a mom is the best thing in the world and the amount of love I have for the two of you is absolutely indescribable.
Look how far you've come!

I had a fabulous Mother's Day. Our family was all together at our house to grill out. The night before we were also together to celebrate my sister Erica's graduation with her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Madeline and Mason sent me my favorite flowers  on Mother's Day.. Tulips!

My mom's gift for Mother's Day.....she loved it!

I love this picture of my mom and stepdad with all their grandkids. Cracks me up that Madeline and Mason are looking right at the camera!

I want to end this by wishing my Mom a great Mother's Day and say thank you. You have been so much help since the babies have been born, coming over several times a week to let me run errands or nap. I'm not sure we could have done this without you. Thank you mom! You're the best!

An oldie but a goodie! In all our Glamour Shot glory! ha!
Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!
