Our Gender Reveal Party for the Twins

On Sunday we had the gender reveal party for the twins. We were so excited to do this. We had a sonogram on Wednesday and had to wait until Sunday for the party! Talk about anxious!

We were so set on not knowing anything until the party we even wore headphones during the sonogram so we wouldn't accidentally overhear the two sonographers discussing what they saw! The next day I took the sealed envelope to the bakery and had them make two cakes with either pink or blue  inside each one. And on Sunday we cut them open in front of all our family and friends!

So here is the video! I got so excited I forgot to hold my piece of cake up and tell everyone what I saw!

It's a boy and a girl! WE COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED!

I was so convinced we were having two boys! I just had this feeling all along that it was boys. I really wanted a girl so badly! But I had convinced myself I would be a boy mom! Which is fine....but I can't lie! I really wanted a girl! So when we cut the cake in the video I saw mine was a boy and immediately looked over at Jason's cake! I could not be more thrilled! A boy and a girl seems perfect for our family! Jason's family is all boys and my family is ALL girls. So this is perfect!

Here are a few pics from the big day!

My mom, sister, and stepdad even had shirts made!

It was such an exciting day! Thank you to all who came and a very special thanks to my friend Vanessa who was the only one who knew the genders and kept it a secret until the party! Love you Ness!

  10. I've been off FB for a bit and apparently missed Jodi's announcement that not only were you and Jason pregnant, but with twins no less! When I read it, all I could think of was the country song "One Boy One Girl". I remember the day you were born and your grandma throwing a pink comb out of the door when your mom delivered. I have kept you in my prayers as I waited 8 years for my second child and it was a journey of faith for me. Now I'm "following" your blog so I don't miss any other breaking room. April 30 is my 59th birthday if Madeline and Mason would like to aim for that date... Where are you delivering? I am SO happy that you and Jason found each other, had a beautiful wedding, a beautiful house and upcoming beautiful children(when you look at the parents, could they be anything BUT beautiful?) My blog is www.dachshundstrong.com We used to rescue dachshunds(we're down to 1 out of 4 and now have a tri colored Chihuahua) and my son commissioned into the Army and their motto is/was Army Strong. It's a pretty much "call it as I see it" blog and I keep it really real with my life. Take care and thanks for sharing the sex reveal party of Madeline and Mason.

  12. Such blasting gender reveal party you had hosted. I love such themed events. Everyone is looking super excited. My sister also threw a mickey mouse inspired gender reveal party at one of the garden themed Los Angeles venues and I can say how must fun time we all had over there. Now we know, it’s a boy!
